At the headquarters of Qatar Chamber in Lusail, a meeting took place between Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, the First Vice Chairman of Qatar Chamber, and Nguyen Huy Hiep, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Qatar. The focal point of their discussion was the enhancement of economic and trade relations between Qatar and Vietnam.
Key areas of interest during the meeting included the strengthening of cooperation between the private sectors of both countries, the exploration of new investment avenues, and the identification of sectors ripe for future collaboration. Al Kuwari emphasized Qatar Chamber’s commitment to fostering robust partnerships and joint investment ventures between Qatari and Vietnamese businesses, commending Vietnam for its impressive economic growth.
Ambassador Nguyen Huy Hiep expressed Vietnam’s eagerness to deepen economic ties with Qatar. He highlighted a notable milestone in bilateral trade, which surpassed $860 million in 2024—a $100 million increase from the previous year. The ambassador urged Qatari investors to delve into opportunities in Vietnam, particularly in agriculture, food processing, and the halal industry. He also stressed the significance of Qatar Chamber in promoting Vietnamese agricultural and halal products within Qatar’s market.
Furthermore, the ambassador extended an invitation to Qatar Chamber and Qatari business leaders to take part in the Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2026, scheduled for next September in Ho Chi Minh City. This annual exhibition is a prominent global trade event, focusing on sourcing, exports, and supply chain collaboration. It attracts international companies and industry leaders across sectors such as food and beverages, textiles, furniture, consumer goods, agriculture, and logistics.
